Shield and parry balance suggestion#870

Hello, big fan of the game. I play ranked and watch tournaments often, and it’s sad to see parry be so underutilized. It’s a cool mechanic that is overshadowed by how good shielding is. From shield you have a litany of options to go into, complete damage protection, and quite a bit of time when it does break you can’t even punish it. I suggest making shield have less total health, make perfect shielding only reduce damage taken to the shield, and make shield breaks fall through platforms to solid ground. These changes would make heavy hitting moves like charged strongs beat out shields or at least make shields unusable until you get a combo to refill it, while still leaving weaker moves like aerials to not impact shield. These changes, alongside attempting to grab during parry active frames be a neutral reset would make parrying a solid option instead of an anti projectile button. This also would destabilize grab strength into not being overcentralized.

I’m not sure on what the specifics should be, but I would love to see weaker shields.
