La Reina's Moves Don't Have Lots of Impact#770

This statement is really just being compared to the workshop version currently on Rivals 1. I understand many things are in WIP so stuff like sounds may be placeholders for now, Lots of things I currently have issues will probably change. So the point of this thread is that with how many of La Reina’s animations currently look like they’re a combination of being slower, floatier, ant seem to lack the same OOMPH as the moves had in the Rivals 1 workshop version.
This mainly applies to Up-Special, Forward-Special, and the Strong attacks. The Pile Driver Up-Special is a really fun move to land and chain into each other but at the current speed, the characters look like they’re falling from the on the moon. As in very floaty, not weighty. Pile Driver builds up speed very quickly in Rivals 1 which feels more impactful IMO.
Her throws weren’t in the original but I think they share the same issues with weight too. I really love Back Throw, though the move seems to lack the build up that this kind of move would have. Doesn’t really look hefty for a kill move.
I understand 3D and 2D animation are very different and that for balance, some speeds of the move need to be changed. However, I really do think that referencing the original for speed and impact even further would be great. But I am still very excited to this character. Everything is still in a good state and there’s clearly a lot of love put into every aspect of this character and I’m still very excited to main them next patch. I’m really just saying all this to due the love of the game and the character.
P.S A Mexican-Flag palette and Eagle La Reina with a rotating beak instead of the mandible skin would be awesome!!! 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

To add on to this, Up Air’s sound was the generic slapping sound instead of something more impactful

Totally agree. All her downward slams, especially SPD, need much more downward acceleration to make them feel forceful, instead of just falling due to gravity. They could also use a lot more hitstop.

I just want to say that they did a great job with Galvan’s hit sounds, so I hope La Reina’s end up being good.
